Waste gas can be treated effectively using the gas-liquid reverse absorption process through a filled spray tower. In this method, a liquid (washing liquid) is sprayed downwards from the top of the tower in the form of mist or small droplets. The waste gas flows in reverse direction (upwards) and comes in contact with the liquid to cool the gas, regulate it, and remove particles. After treatment in the demisting section, the exhaust gas is sent into the atmosphere.
The fan unit works to suck the collected waste gas into the spray tower so that it flows through the filling layer section, where the gas and liquid react and fully come in contact to absorb the acidic or alkaline dirt contained in the waste gas. The waste liquid is then collected in a sump and can be discharged to the wastewater system for treatment.
The gas in the tower flows from bottom to top, and the absorption liquid is pumped from the top of the tower by an acid-resistant pump and sprayed downwards evenly through the liquid distribution device to form a countercurrent absorption. The neutralized gas is discharged into the atmosphere through the chimney after passing through the demisting section in the tower. Different acidic gases are absorbed by varying absorption liquids. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution is the ideal absorption and neutralization liquid, and it can achieve a high level of purification efficiency for HCL, H2SO4, and HNO3.
The spray tower is highly effective in removing major pollutants like sulfuric acid mist, chromic acid mist, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, and difficult-to-treat waste gases such as chlorinated chlorine, with a removal efficiency of over 95%. It's highly designable and can be customized in different forms to suit different spaces. Additionally, the pp tower can be designed into a spray tower with different internal structures to enhance absorption efficiency and cater to different waste gas types.
It's long-lasting, thanks to its anti-oxidant properties, and the addition of ultraviolet absorbers to the outer layer during the processing and manufacturing phase. It can achieve a minimum service life of 15 years, whether it is used indoors or outdoors. Maintenance and management costs are low, and only regular inspections at fixed times are needed, which reduces personnel costs. The spray tower manufacturer will also arrange for personnel to record on-site operation conditions regularly. It has no wearing parts and needs no replacement under normal operations.
The PP material used in the absorption tower is resistant to corrosion by all common absorption liquids like sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, sodium thiosulfate, sulfuric acid, sodium hypochlorite, organic solutions, etc. It's temperature resistant, and its liquid temperature resistance can exceed 100℃. PP absorption towers are economical and affordable for some specific cases of waste gas and absorption medium.
